Internship - Content Marketing

Part-Time in United States - Internship

We recognize that a great candidate may not check every box and if that’s you, we encourage you to apply and tell us more about yourself. We also encourage members of traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, including people of color, LGBTQ-identifying people, veterans and people with disabilities.

Lifeblue is a full-service digital media agency on a mission to help our partners make their greatest impact — socially, culturally or economically. We’re looking for an energetic, aspiring brand storyteller to learn on the job (and teach us a few things, too) as a content marketing intern.

We believe work experience with Lifeblue will benefit students who have a wide variety of interests, but this position may be best suited for people who are majoring in marketing, journalism or other disciplines related to publishing and content creation for digital media.

The intern will report to the director of content and will work with a variety of Lifeblue team members to ensure that the narratives we put out into the world match the intended messaging, with some surprise and delight built in, too. It is our goal to provide the intern with practical experience in the field of digital content marketing, primarily on behalf of Lifeblue itself and secondarily in support of a small number of its clients. The ideal candidate aspires to develop better skills as a writer, marketer, content producer or a similar role. Excellent writing and communication skills are vital to a successful internship, as are flexibility, a strong work ethic and critical-thinking skills.

In your experience-of-a-lifetime semester with Lifeblue, you will:

  • Become immersed in our company culture and knowledge base
  • Contribute meaningful strategies and content updates that improve our own messaging about our services
  • Assist with RFP responses to client bids
  • Assist with other position efforts to communicate with a primary audience of potential client partners and a secondary audience of potential recruits.
  • Study competitors' best practices
  • Work closely with the marketing team to conduct internal fact-finding interviews that help us craft better content, from our own mini case studies to the descriptions of our processes and differentiators.
  • Gain an understanding and a skill set in delivering content marketing through blog posts or social media so that you can attract audience through channels such as Facebook, LinkedIn or Instagram. This will require a combination of strategic thinking and practical application.
  • Take part in interdisciplinary learning, from best practices in UX/UI design and development to client service and other best business practices.

You will work with a collective of T-shaped individuals, including talented designers and developers, thoughtful strategists and solution designers and engaging business leaders. It's our common practice to share best practices and helpful knowledge from our individual crafts with one another so that we all broaden and deepen our approach to our work. You will take part in this practice as well, through weekly lunch-and-learns, one-on-one interviews and relationship building.

Benefits, perks and other details

  • This is a paid internship ($15 per hour), designed to require 20 hours per week for the duration of the semester. Specific details such as start and end dates will be established at the start of the semester.
  • You must have your own computer and internet access, along with the ability to take part in video conferencing as needed.
  • This position can be remote for now, as most of our team is working from home, but you also can have access to our office in Plano. (We will one day gather there again as a company and take advantage of our amazing balcony.)
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI): As a Certified B Corporation, Lifeblue is part of a global movement using business as a force for good. We’re committed to making the web a more accessible – and inclusive – place for everyone, which starts by fostering a diverse team that’s empowered to lead with empathy.
